A recent Western Disturbance has altered the weather in Rajasthan, resulting in intermittent rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in various districts like Jaipur, Alwar, Tonk, Kota, and Nagaur since Wednesday. This sudden change has caused temperatures to decrease, bringing back mild cold conditions across the state.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms and hailstorms in 13 districts, while 13 others are under a yellow alert due to adverse weather conditions. Areas such as Jaipur, Alwar, Tonk, Kota, and Udaipur experienced intermittent rain, with strong winds and lightning observed in the capital city.
In Jaipur, rainfall started at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, accompanied by gusty winds and lightning, leading to a noticeable temperature drop. Hailstorms were reported in Jaipur and Nagaur, with heavy rain lasting 20 to 25 minutes in Kota and Tonk, resulting in cooler morning temperatures. Additionally, light rain was recorded in Sriganganagar, Pali, Hanumangarh, and Churu over the past day.
The weather system has caused a significant temperature drop, with Sriganganagar experiencing a maximum temperature decrease of 5.7 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures in several districts have also declined by 2 to 3 degrees. Meteorological officials anticipate the northeastern parts of Rajasthan to be most affected by the system on Wednesday.
