Choreographer Geeta Kapur reminisced about her early days as a dancer in Bollywood during the 90s when dancing was not seen as a viable career choice. In a recent interview, she highlighted the significant shift in the industry’s perception of dance, now considered a legitimate and rewarding profession.

Geeta emphasized that the concept of dance has evolved over time, transitioning into a recognized career path. Initially, financial incentives played a crucial role in her decision to pursue dance more seriously as opportunities in the field expanded.

Having started with a passion for dance nurtured through various traditional forms, Geeta never envisioned it as a potential profession. However, as she delved deeper into the industry and began receiving paid assignments, she realized the financial stability dance could offer.

Geeta Kapur, a prominent figure in Bollywood for nearly three decades, notably collaborated with Farah Khan on several blockbuster songs. One of her notable works includes the iconic song “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayi” from the popular film “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”
