Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has renewed his contract with Melbourne Stars for an additional two years in the Big Bash League (BBL). Maxwell, a key player for the Stars since BBL 2, has accumulated 3,193 runs in 123 matches, solidifying his position as one of the league’s top performers. Despite a challenging season where he scored only 76 runs in eight innings and took two wickets, Maxwell expressed his commitment to the team.
Melbourne Stars’ T20 High Performance Manager, Clint McKay, praised Maxwell’s decision, highlighting his significant contributions to the team. Additionally, the club has secured young talent Campbell Kellaway for another two years, emphasizing the importance of his role in the team’s top order. The Stars are optimistic about their roster for BBL 16 and are focused on building a competitive team for the upcoming seasons.
The team has also retained 20-year-old Austin Anlezark for another year, showcasing their commitment to nurturing young talent. As the BBL Player Movement Window approaches, clubs will have the opportunity to trade players and sign free agents, enhancing their squads for the upcoming season.
