A significant moment occurred at Bihar’s Thawe Durga Temple today as the stolen gold and silver ornaments, including the crown, necklace, and umbrella of Goddess Durga, were returned to the temple management committee as per court directives. The items, stolen during a theft on December 17/18, 2025, were handed back under tight security measures.
The temple premises were crowded with devotees since early morning, resonating with chants of “Mata Rani.” The theft had deeply affected the religious sentiments of worshippers and caused shockwaves across the district. Swift action by a special police team led by Superintendent Vinay Tiwari resulted in the successful recovery of all stolen ornaments.
Following a thorough investigation, the court authorized the return of the sacred jewelry, which was then transferred to the Shri Shri Maa Durga Temple Trust Committee. The handover, attended by key temple figures and conducted with strict adherence to protocol, aimed at ensuring transparency and security throughout the process.
After the formal transfer, SP Vinay Tiwari visited the temple to perform rituals and symbolically offer the recovered ornaments back to Goddess Durga. The atmosphere turned reverential as devotees expressed gratitude and lauded the police for reinstating their faith in the temple’s sanctity.
