Major political developments have unfolded in Patna as the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road, historically linked to former Bihar Chief Ministers Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav, has now been officially assigned to Bihar Minister Nand Kishore Ram. Preparations are underway to install a new VVIP nameplate at the residence, marking the formal handover.
Before the allotment to Nand Kishore Ram, an official notice was served to Rabri Devi, the current Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, instructing her to vacate the property. The bungalow holds significant political importance in Bihar, having served as a key venue for strategic meetings and political planning by the Rashtriya Janata Dal leadership.
In exchange for the Circular Road residence, a new government bungalow has been provided to Rabri Devi in the upscale Harding Road area of Patna. This new residence has been fully equipped with necessary facilities, security measures, and official protocols as per the standards for former Chief Ministers.
The reshuffling of accommodations is described as an administrative procedure adhering to government norms by sources within the Building Construction Department. Ministerial positions are entitled to specific categories of official residences, leading to the allocation of the Circular Road bungalow to Minister Nand Kishore Ram.
Officials emphasize that such reassignments of official residences for Ministers and senior officials have occurred previously as part of routine administrative processes. However, this move has sparked intense political debates in Patna, with leaders from both the ruling alliance and the Opposition offering varied interpretations and speculations on its wider political implications.
