There are sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel available at all petrol stations across the country. The government confirmed that regular retail prices for petrol and diesel remain unchanged, with no price hikes at PSU oil marketing companies’ outlets. A Petroleum Ministry official urged citizens to conserve energy and avoid panic buying of fuel and LPG.
Despite the current geopolitical situation, the government emphasized that there is a 100% supply of domestic LPG, domestic PNG, and CNG for transport purposes. Over the last three days, a significant number of 5-kg FTL cylinders were sold, along with a high number of LPG cylinder deliveries against bookings. The government also highlighted the progress in gasifying PNG connections and creating infrastructure for new connections.
PSU OMCs have conducted surprise inspections and taken action against LPG distributorships to ensure compliance. Noteworthy provisions have been made for the pharma, chemical, and paint sectors from the LPG pool. Refineries have sold essential molecules to various industries, contributing to the supply chain for chemical, pharma, and paint products.
