Ministers and officials from the Delhi Government, including Ravinder Indraj Singh and Labour Minister Kapil Mishra, embraced the “Metro Monday” initiative by utilizing the Delhi Metro and other sustainable transport options. The initiative aims to promote public participation, fuel conservation, and responsible citizenship, especially amid rising fuel prices. Various government officials, such as Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, actively supported the fuel-saving drive by using public transport in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for reduced fuel consumption.
To further encourage eco-friendly transportation, parking charges for electric vehicles in Connaught Place have been halved. This move, supported by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and NDMC Vice Chairperson Kuljeet Chahal, aims to boost the adoption of electric vehicles. Additionally, Minister for Industries, Food and Supplies, Environment, Forest and Wildlife, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh exemplified sustainable commuting practices by utilizing electric buses alongside the Delhi Metro for their official journeys.
