Governor C.V. Ananda Bose expressed concerns about the rise of corruption and violence in West Bengal politics during a media interaction in Barasat. He emphasized the need to combat these issues to establish a society free from such maladies. The Governor praised the Union government’s initiative to outline official guidelines for the rendition of India’s national song, ‘Vande Mataram,’ stating that it symbolizes the essence of Indian society.

Governor Bose refrained from commenting on a recent Supreme Court decision related to the National Investigation Agency’s probe into violence in West Bengal. He stressed that it is a judicial matter and declined to offer any opinions on the issue. However, he voiced support for the Election Commission of India’s efforts in conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal to ensure fair elections in the state.
