A vibrant celebration marks Patna on Ram Navami, with grand processions and devotional fervor taking over the city. Dak Bungalow Crossing, known as Shri Ram Chowk, is the central hub welcoming 52 elaborate tableaux from various Puja committees. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, and other dignitaries grace the event at the main dais.
The BJP’s National President, Nitin Nabin, leads the event for the first time, warmly receiving the tableaux and guests. The Chief Minister honors the participating groups, adding to the ceremony’s grandeur. An estimated 5 to 7 lakh devotees gather at the venue, showcasing massive participation.
Despite scorching heat earlier, a sudden change in weather brings relief with cool winds and light drizzle, boosting public turnout. Actor and MP Arun Govil, famous for portraying Lord Ram in Ramayan, and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari enhance the event’s appeal. Security is tight with 1,500 police personnel, 500 CCTV cameras, and 10 drones monitoring the area.
The festive atmosphere is enriched by diverse cultural performances, including saints from Ayodhya, musical troupes from South India, and Ganga Aarti performers. Massive statues of Lord Ram, Lord Shiva, and Lord Hanuman, along with dazzling lighting effects, make this year’s celebration historic and record-breaking in Patna.
