Two distressing incidents of child sexual assault have recently surfaced in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, sparking worries about the safety of young children. In Chhattisgarh’s Surajpur district, an eight-year-old girl was attacked by a man while collecting mangoes near her home. The accused fled the scene after the assault, prompting the victim’s family to report the incident to the police.
The girl’s health deteriorated upon her return home, leading to a police complaint and a medical examination. Despite assurances of strict action from the authorities, the perpetrator remains at large, causing public outrage.
In a separate incident in Madhya Pradesh, an eight-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a hospital bathroom at Bundelkhand Medical College. The accused, also a patient, followed the child into the bathroom and committed the assault before escaping. The child informed her mother about the incident, creating chaos at the hospital.
The police have initiated an investigation under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused, as the incidents have evoked widespread concern and fear among parents and residents.
