The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has made changes to the routes of its premium AC bus services to enhance travel efficiency and reduce passenger costs. These adjustments, directed by the Deputy Chief Minister, include rerouting buses between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar via the new Ahmedabad-Dholera Express Highway. This alteration aims to cut travel time, decrease operational expenses, and offer passengers reduced fares.
A total of 24 daily trips between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar, operating hourly from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., will now utilize the expressway. Additionally, services on the Gandhinagar-Diu and Gandhinagar-Mahuva routes will also be integrated into this corridor. The fare for the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar route has been lowered to Rs 336, resulting in savings of about Rs 15 per journey for passengers.
In another development, GSRTC has launched a new Volvo service on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, providing a non-stop premium link between Nehrunagar (Ahmedabad) and Surat. The service will depart from Nehrunagar at 6:45 a.m. and return from Surat at 1 p.m., with a fixed fare of Rs 687. This pricing adjustment is expected to save passengers approximately Rs 61 compared to previous services.
The corporation’s initiative to introduce services on the expressway network aims to leverage upgraded national infrastructure for better connectivity and reduced travel times on key intercity routes in Gujarat. Passengers can book tickets for these services in advance through the official GSRTC website and mobile application, emphasizing the use of digital platforms for reservations and access to the revised premium services.
