The Gujarat Cabinet has authorized district collectors to promptly decide on fodder arrangements for cattle in regions facing low rainfall. This move aims to expedite assistance to gaushalas, panjarapoles, and livestock owners. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi revealed this decision after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, emphasizing the need for swift responses tailored to local conditions.

The delegated authority allows district administrations to address fodder shortages in areas with insufficient rainfall without bureaucratic delays. Sanghavi highlighted that this measure targets ensuring adequate feed for cattle and animal shelters during periods of below-average rainfall. Notably, the decision comes amidst varying rainfall patterns across Gujarat this monsoon season.

While some parts of the state, like Surat and southern regions, have witnessed heavy rainfall and flooding, other areas have experienced lower precipitation levels. The India Meteorological Department has forecast reduced rainfall post-mid July, following the Southwest monsoon’s nationwide coverage. Additionally, Sanghavi extended birthday wishes to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who discouraged elaborate celebrations and promoted public service activities instead.

Administrative arrangements have been finalized across Gujarat for the Rath Yatra festivities in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Anand, and other districts. This preparation aims to ensure the smooth conduct of processions during the celebrations.
