Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, at a ceremony in Gandhinagar, urged newly recruited agriculture personnel to guide farmers in reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers and transitioning to natural farming methods. Patel emphasized the importance of self-reliance in agriculture, especially in the current global scenario. The Chief Minister highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s call for promoting natural farming and decreasing dependency on imported fertilisers.
At the event, 21 candidates received appointment letters ceremonially, with a total of 415 Agricultural Assistant candidates in Gujarat receiving theirs via email. Patel stressed the significance of the recruits’ role in disseminating the message of reducing fertiliser use and promoting sustainable farming practices. He encouraged the new appointees to embrace innovation, utilize technology effectively, and continuously enhance their skills to support farmers better.
Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani commended the successful candidates, emphasizing the state government’s transparent recruitment process based on merit and hard work. Referring to the recruits as “Karmayogis,” Vaghani highlighted the pivotal role of agriculture in the country’s economy and the opportunity for direct service to farmers. He urged the Agricultural Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of government welfare schemes for farmers in remote areas and emphasized the importance of curbing the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides to safeguard soil health.
