Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel initiated the self-enumeration process for ‘Census 2027’ by entering his family’s details online. This marks the introduction of the first digital self-census in India. The self-enumeration phase in Gujarat started on May 17 and will run until May 31, allowing residents to submit their information through the census web portal and a mobile platform.
The state government highlighted that Census-2027 is being conducted entirely in a digital format for the first time. Citizens can conveniently provide their details through the online portal or mobile devices. Patel encouraged people to actively engage in this significant national initiative and ensure the accurate submission of information within the specified timeframe.
The self-enumeration system aims to offer a secure and user-friendly digital platform for residents to upload their details from anywhere. Residents are urged to complete the process within the 15-day period to facilitate timely and precise data submission. The official portal provides guidance and instructions for the self-enumeration process, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in building a strong and inclusive India.
In the upcoming phase, House Listing Operations (HLO) will be conducted in Gujarat from June 1 to 30 by over one lakh census workers as part of the nationwide census activity. During the launch event, State Census Operations Director Sujal Mayatra presented the chief minister with a memento and briefed him on the census-related preparations and activities in the state.
