Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed senior officials to compile a detailed list of public grievances from villages to the state level and create an action plan for quick resolution. This move aims to streamline the handling of citizens’ complaints through a structured administrative process, as stated by government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani after a Cabinet meeting. The directive comes in the wake of the BJP’s success in the recent local self-government elections in Gujarat.
The state government sees the election results as a mandate to enhance governance and administrative efficiency further. During the elections, the Chief Minister, ministers, and elected representatives engaged in extensive public interactions where various local issues, administrative concerns, and expectations were raised by citizens. These inputs are now being consolidated for necessary action, according to Vaghani.
In line with the Chief Minister’s instructions, a comprehensive list of citizens’ grievances will be prepared, ranging from the village to the state level, with an immediate action plan for resolution. Senior officials are entrusted with the task of ensuring proper recording, categorization, and timely addressing of all complaints. The focus is on promoting transparency in administration and enhancing service delivery efficiency at all levels, ensuring effective grievance resolution under the Chief Minister’s leadership.
