Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the National Mineral Chintan Shivir at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, emphasizing its role in shaping the mining sector’s future for a progressive India. The event, hosted by the Union Ministry of Mines, gathers mining ministers, officials, and industry representatives to deliberate on reforms, technology, sustainability, and policy frameworks.
In his address, the Chief Minister underscored the significance of the mining and mineral industry in driving India’s economic development, highlighting the forum’s aim to foster collaborative discussions and implement practical solutions. He commended the Prime Minister’s comprehensive reforms for fostering self-reliant India, with the mining sector benefiting from clear policies and transparent governance.
CM Patel highlighted Gujarat’s adoption of eco-friendly mining practices, technological advancements, and efficient monitoring aligned with the national agenda. Emphasizing the state’s mineral strengths in lignite, limestone, and bauxite, he positioned Gujarat as a model of transparent governance, supported by real-time GPS tracking for mineral transportation.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy lauded the mining sector as a key driver of economic progress, essential for realizing India’s development vision by 2047. He praised Gujarat’s developmental standards, setting benchmarks for other states in fostering healthy competition for investments and growth. Union Ministers C.R. Patil and Satish Chandra Dubey also addressed the event, attended by dignitaries from various states and government officials.
