Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel initiated the 24th annual ‘Shala Praveshotsav’ from B.N. High School in Vadnagar, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi studied, emphasizing the importance of universal education. The event, held in Mehsana district, enrolled approximately 390 children, contributing to the state’s goal of achieving near 100% school enrollment and reducing the dropout rate to less than one percent.
Patel highlighted the impact of the campaign, which began in 2003, in enhancing Gujarat’s education sector. He underlined how education, as exemplified by PM Modi’s journey, can empower children from ordinary families to succeed through dedication and hard work. The Chief Minister encouraged parents to collaborate with the government to ensure their children complete their education, leveraging the educational opportunities and growth initiatives under PM Modi’s leadership.
Acknowledging the efforts of teachers, Patel mentioned the use of technology and consistent monitoring to identify and reintegrate children who had discontinued their education. He stressed the shared responsibility of parents and the government in ensuring every child’s education completion. Patel also emphasized state schemes promoting education among girls, such as the ‘Namo Lakshmi scheme’ and ‘Namo Saraswati scheme’, providing financial aid to students in need.
During the event, students actively participated in various roles, showcasing their organizational skills and commitment. Meritorious students and achievers in arts and sports were honored, while all students pledged to adhere to traffic rules as part of a broader social responsibility initiative. The Chief Minister engaged with the School Management Committee and governing body to discuss educational quality issues, concluding the event with a tree plantation on the school premises.
