Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel oversaw the 149th Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad through the Chief Minister’s Dashboard. After flagging off the procession, Patel monitored its movement and security arrangements from his official residence in Gandhinagar. Live video feeds on the CM Dashboard tracked the chariots’ progress and provided updates on crowd management, traffic control, and security measures.
Officials utilized artificial intelligence and drone technology for real-time surveillance of the yatra. The Chief Minister, along with senior officials including Chief Secretary M. K. Das and DGP G. S. Malik, assessed the procession’s management throughout the day. The annual Jagannath Rath Yatra, starting from the Shree Jagannathji Mandir, is a significant event in Ahmedabad, attracting a large number of devotees annually.
This year’s yatra, under heavy security, involved over 31,000 police personnel supported by advanced technologies like drones and facial recognition systems. A central control room monitored the 16-km route in real time, with cyber teams keeping an eye on social media for any misinformation. The Ahmedabad Rath Yatra is the country’s second-largest and draws a substantial crowd of devotees each year.
