Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led a high-level meeting to evaluate the typhoid outbreak in Gandhinagar city and enhance existing efforts for treatment and prevention. Officials were instructed to escalate medical and public health responses, emphasizing coordinated actions between the municipal corporation and the health department to contain the spread. The Gandhinagar Municipal Commissioner reported a gradual decrease in typhoid cases due to continuous efforts, with 85 survey teams deployed to cover over 1.58 lakh individuals.

To combat water-borne diseases, the Chief Minister mandated the daily collection and testing of water samples for quality and chlorination, ensuring water supply only upon satisfactory reports. He also emphasized the inspection of pipeline projects for quality assurance, expansion of water testing, and prompt repair of leakages. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi participated in the meeting through a video conference, along with various senior officials including those from the Health Department, Water Supply, and Urban Development sectors.

The state government reiterated its dedication to containing the outbreak swiftly, providing safe drinking water, and safeguarding public health. Measures such as deploying survey teams, distributing chlorine tablets, conducting super chlorination of water sources, and ensuring water quality testing across urban areas were highlighted as part of the ongoing efforts to address the typhoid situation in Gandhinagar city.
