Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi participated in the 149th Jagannath Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad. The procession, a significant annual event in the state, follows a traditional 16.2-km route through the city. Senior officials, including the Director General of Police and the Police Commissioner, oversaw security and crowd management along the yatra route.
The Rath Yatra, starting from the Shree Jagannath Temple, is a major religious gathering in Ahmedabad, drawing a large number of devotees each year. Security measures for the event involved over 30,000 police personnel, advanced surveillance technologies, and emergency services stationed along the procession route. This year’s yatra is marked by one of the most extensive security arrangements in the city’s history, ensuring the safety and smooth progress of the event.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Sanghavi, along with top police officials, inspected the procession route, reviewed security at sensitive spots, and directed officials to ensure the event’s successful execution. The procession, considered the second-largest Jagannath Rath Yatra in India, is a centuries-old tradition that attracts devotees from far and wide to participate in the religious event.
