Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has called off his planned trip to the United States following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s request for citizens to avoid foreign travel for a year. The cancellation aligns with the PM’s initiative on economic self-reliance and resource conservation.
The Deputy CM was set to attend the second Gujarati Convention organized by the Federation of Gujarati Associations of USA (FOGAUSA) later this month. Sanghavi emphasized the importance of citizens supporting the national call for restraint in line with the PM’s appeal.
State Health Minister Praful Pansheriya has also shown solidarity with the PM’s plea for fuel conservation. He announced a change in his official security protocol, opting to use his pilot car security only in cases of extreme necessity or emergencies. Pansheriya highlighted the significance of responsible resource usage for national economic progress.
These actions follow the PM’s broader message advocating moderation in consumption and a focus on domestic resources. Various public representatives in Gujarat have responded to this call for prudence and self-reliance.
