Gujarat Education Minister Pradyuman Vaja is in stable condition following a minor heart attack and emergency angioplasty at the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre. Vaja was taken to the cardiac institute after feeling unwell post a public function at the Sabarmati Riverfront. Earlier, he had attended a program by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, alongside Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, where smart school projects were launched and teachers honored.
According to sources, Vaja visited the hospital for a routine check-up due to discomfort, which led to the discovery of a blockage in one of his coronary arteries. Doctors swiftly performed an angioplasty after identifying the blockage through diagnostic tests. The procedure, which included the successful implantation of a stent, was described as minor, with no complications reported.
The minister is currently in a stable condition and is being closely monitored. Doctors have advised him to rest completely for five days. Vaja, who became the Education Minister in October last year, is a native of Ahmedabad and a former medical practitioner. He holds various medical degrees from Gujarat University and recently completed legal qualifications.
Hospital authorities have confirmed that Vaja will undergo post-procedure care and monitoring in the coming days to ensure his well-being.
