The Gujarat government has revealed new appointments in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for Jamnagar, Surendranagar, and Gandhinagar. P.B. Pandya, currently District Development Officer in Amreli, will take over as the Collector of Jamnagar on March 31, succeeding K.B. Thakkar. G.H. Solanki, the current Municipal Commissioner of Nadiad, has been reassigned as the Collector of Surendranagar, replacing K.S. Yagnik. Ravindra Khatale, serving as the Municipal Commissioner of Mehsana, has been designated as the new Collector of Gandhinagar, taking over from J.N. Vaghela.
The Surendranagar collectorate has been in the spotlight following the removal of former collector Rajendra Patel amid corruption investigations. Patel was arrested in January in connection with an alleged bribery-related money laundering case involving land-use change permissions. The recent transfers come after previous significant administrative reshuffles in Gujarat, including the transfer of 13 IAS officers in June 2025 and subsequent changes involving around 26 officers later in the year.
