Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat visited Banas Dairy in Palanpur, emphasizing its role in empowering farmers and livestock rearers through cooperative initiatives. The Governor, along with Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary and State Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, toured various modern facilities at the dairy. Banas Dairy’s efforts in enhancing farmers’ incomes and rural economy were commended by the Governor.
Speaker Chaudhary highlighted Banas Dairy’s significant contribution to the economic development of Banaskantha district. The continuous expansion and innovation at the dairy have not only provided employment opportunities but also ensured stable incomes for farmers and cattle rearers, thereby fostering regional prosperity. Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani praised Banas Dairy for its use of modern technology and cooperative values, which have elevated Gujarat’s dairy sector.
Governor Devvrat inspected the Banas Dairy-run food complex at Badarpura, focusing on the oil mill plant, grain processing units, and Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit. He also visited the THR unit supplying nutritious food to anganwadi centres and the Honey Facility Centre to explore the potential of increasing rural incomes through honey production. Additionally, the Governor reviewed the potato tissue culture laboratory’s efforts to produce high-quality seeds using modern technology, aiming to boost farmers’ incomes and reduce cultivation costs.
Throughout the visit, Governor Devvrat engaged with officials and experts, providing guidance to enhance existing services and ensure the successful implementation of future projects.
