As Gujarat gets ready to celebrate its 66th Foundation Day on May 1, Governor Acharya Devvrat has emphasized the need for a united effort to create a developed, environmentally conscious, and socially cohesive state. In a video message, the Governor extended his greetings to the people of Gujarat residing within the state, across India, and abroad. He acknowledged the significant contributions of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati in shaping Gujarat’s global identity.
Paying homage to these eminent figures, the Governor highlighted the enduring influence of values such as truth, non-violence, administrative unity, and knowledge traditions on Gujarat’s journey since its establishment in 1960. He praised Gujarat’s evolution into a global benchmark for development through sustained endeavors and public involvement. The Governor stressed the importance of aligning the state’s progress with environmental sustainability and public health priorities, in addition to economic growth.
Governor Devvrat underscored the significance of agriculture and encouraged farmers to embrace natural farming techniques as a means to safeguard the environment and ensure a healthier future for generations to come. He particularly emphasized the role of cow-based natural farming in preserving soil health and ecological equilibrium. Furthermore, he highlighted Gujarat’s contributions to national development within the framework of ‘Developed India @ 2047’, citing achievements in green energy, semiconductors, industrial growth, and emerging economic sectors.
Advocating for concerted action, the Governor emphasized the necessity of collaborative endeavors across all segments of society to realize development objectives.
