Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya emphasized the protection of students’ futures as the state government takes action following an inspection at Dhanvantari Ayurveda College and Hospital in Mahisagar district. The inspection, conducted by a committee appointed by the central government’s AYUSH department, identified various concerns including academic standards, infrastructure, and operational issues. Deficiencies in patient care, staffing, academic training, and essential facilities were noted, raising doubts about the institution’s ability to continue operations.
A review meeting chaired by the Health Minister focused on safeguarding students’ academic interests and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Discussions included the possibility of relocating affected students to other recognized institutions to prevent disruptions in their education. Praful Pansheriya affirmed the government’s commitment to providing quality education and facilities to every student without compromising their future. The state government pledged to follow directives from regulatory authorities to protect students’ academic interests while addressing necessary improvements at the institution.
In a separate meeting, the Health Minister engaged with representatives of the Gujarat State Health Employees Federation and various health worker categories. Issues concerning departmental examinations, pay scales, and concerns of health workers under the panchayat system were raised and addressed with sensitivity. Praful Pansheriya acknowledged the crucial role of health workers in public service and assured that the government would prioritize their welfare and interests. He highlighted the government’s dedication, under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s guidance, to resolving issues and upholding the dignity of all health sector employees.
