Gujarat has heightened its flood response in South Gujarat by deploying extra National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams. This action comes as heavy rainfall disrupts normal life in Valsad, Surat, Navsari, and Tapi districts. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted a high-level review meeting to evaluate the situation caused by the intense rainfall.
Senior Ministers and officials have been dispatched to the worst-affected districts to oversee rescue and relief operations. The Chief Minister engaged in discussions with district Collectors to assess the flood situation in rivers and review ongoing operations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have offered full support from the Central government for rescue and safety measures.
Additional NDRF and SDRF teams have been directed to reinforce rescue efforts in the affected areas. The focus remains on rescuing stranded individuals and evacuating residents from low-lying regions. The Health Department has been instructed to prepare for sanitation measures and disease prevention post-flooding to avert potential health crises.
