Gujarat Polo Club will host the Ahmedabad Polo Tournament from January 2 to 4, showcasing six top-tier teams including those from the Jindal Group and the Adani Group, along with two women’s teams. The event aims to revive the sport and establish it as a prominent annual sporting event in the state. The tournament will feature not only matches but also heritage installations, equine exhibitions, family-friendly spectator zones, and engagement activities for young enthusiasts.
The opening ceremony will kick off with a grand parade of all six polo teams on horseback, carrying illuminated sponsor and team flags. The event will also include a performance by a group of 80 dancers and the Warrior Squad from America’s Got Talent. Actor and former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, will unveil the tournament trophy.
Throughout the three days, there will be entertainment highlights such as Bollywood dance performances, acrobatic stunts by V Unbeatable, Mallakhamba demonstrations, and a Tron act. Musical performances and fireworks displays will complement the matches, creating a festive yet sophisticated ambiance.
The promoters of Gujarat Polo Club expressed their commitment to honoring India’s polo heritage and elevating the sport in Gujarat and Western India. They aim to establish the Ahmedabad Polo Tournament as a long-term cultural and sporting milestone for the region. The closing ceremony will feature synchronized fireworks, laser displays, and an awards presentation to recognize winners and outstanding performers.
The tournament, supported by the Adani Group, seeks to revive polo in Gujarat and create an annual tradition that celebrates heritage, culture, and sport.
