Gujarat Titans (GT) have initiated preparations for the IPL 2026 with a camp in Nathdwara while also introducing the third edition of Junior Titans, a grassroots program. Colonel Arvinder Singh, the franchise’s COO, highlighted the initiative’s aim to engage children in outdoor sports activities, emphasizing participation over talent scouting for specific sports stars. The program encourages kids to participate in various sports, promoting physical activity and inclusivity among boys and girls.
This year, the Junior Titans initiative will be held in five cities across Gujarat, starting from Surendranagar on January 17 and concluding in Ahmedabad on February 14. The franchise aims to cover different regions of Gujarat annually, ensuring that all cities, including those in various tiers, are included in the program. Singh emphasized the importance of engaging children in sports early on, especially in the digital age, to promote physical activity, teamwork, and overall well-being.
The goal of the initiative is to encourage children to engage in outdoor sports and prioritize physical activity over excessive screen time. Through various sports activities like football, basketball, and cricket, the program aims to instill the importance of physical well-being and teamwork in children. Singh highlighted the significance of physical activity in a child’s development, emphasizing the benefits beyond academics and screen-based entertainment.
