The Gujarat government is all set to reveal its new Industrial Policy 2026 on June 15 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This policy aims to boost industrial growth, attract investments, and create more job opportunities in the state. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will launch the policy.
The upcoming policy is anticipated to enhance Gujarat’s status as a prime industrial and investment hub in India. It will concentrate on simplifying business processes, fostering advanced manufacturing, supporting MSMEs, promoting technology-driven industries, and facilitating investments in emerging sectors. Additionally, the policy will emphasize innovation, job generation, and leverage Gujarat’s existing industrial foundation.
The state government highlighted Gujarat’s appeal for both domestic and international investments due to its infrastructure, connectivity, governance, and skilled labor force. The new policy is expected to capitalize on these strengths to boost industrial competitiveness and economic progress. Reports suggest that the policy might introduce an “ultra mega” category for significant industrial projects, with criteria tied to substantial investments and job creation commitments.
The draft framework of the policy is likely to expand the list of priority sectors from nine to 16, potentially encompassing areas such as semiconductor supply chains, nuclear power equipment manufacturing, drone and robotics production, recycling industries, and heavy equipment manufacturing. This policy launch aligns with Gujarat’s strategic focus on advancing manufacturing and technology industries, with recent investments in semiconductors, data centers, green energy, and smart industrial infrastructure.
