Gwalior Cheetahs’ hopes of advancing to the playoffs in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026 were dashed after a 38-run (VJD Method) loss to Indore Pink Panthers at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. Kartik Parihar shone for the Cheetahs, scoring a brilliant 71 off 46 balls, including 11 boundaries and a maximum, anchoring the team’s innings.
Despite Kartik’s efforts and a quick 37 off 19 balls from captain Rajat Patidar, Gwalior Cheetahs managed to reach only 157/7 in 17.1 overs. In response, Indore Pink Panthers posted 221/3 in their 20 overs, with Akash Raghuwanshi taking 2 wickets for 40 runs. This defeat ended Gwalior Cheetahs’ chances of progressing to the knockout rounds.
The Gwalior Cheetahs will now focus on their final league match against Royal Nimar Eagles on June 24, aiming to end their season positively. The team, despite missing out on the playoffs, has shown glimpses of their potential throughout the MPL 2026 campaign.
Bowlers showcased remarkable performances in recent matches, with three hat-tricks lighting up the competition. Naveen Chouhan of Rewa Jaguars, Aryan Pandey of Ujjain Falcons, and Kumar Kartikeya of Royal Nimar Eagles all achieved hat-tricks, adding excitement to the MPL 2026 season.
