Hardik Pandya acknowledged that Mumbai Indians were outplayed by Sunrisers Hyderabad despite setting a challenging target of 243 runs. Pandya attributed the loss to poor bowling execution and missed opportunities during the match at the Wankhede Stadium. He mentioned that Sunrisers Hyderabad capitalized on a strong start and maintained momentum throughout the game.

Reflecting on the match, Pandya highlighted the aggressive batting display by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to a formidable position early on. Although Mumbai Indians attempted a comeback with key wickets, Heinrich Klaasen’s aggressive batting ensured Sunrisers Hyderabad stayed on course for victory.

Pandya shared his mixed emotions about his own performance, expressing enjoyment despite the team’s defeat. He emphasized the significance of capitalizing on opportunities in high-stakes games and acknowledged the need for improvement. Pandya also praised the loyal Mumbai Indians supporters and expressed a desire to entertain them more effectively in future matches.

Despite the loss, Pandya refrained from criticizing his bowling unit and emphasized the collective responsibility of the team. He expressed confidence in the team’s potential to bounce back and deliver performances that align with the standards set by Mumbai Indians. Pandya believed that the total of 243/5 posted by Mumbai Indians should have been sufficient for a victory on most occasions.
