Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini led a high-level meeting with the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce delegation at his residence in Chandigarh. The delegation, headed by President Prashant Srivastava, was warmly welcomed by the Chief Minister. Saini expressed Haryana’s keen interest in fostering collaboration with Canada, recognizing it as a valuable opportunity for mutual growth.
Highlighting the significance of partnerships based on knowledge, innovation, and technology in today’s global economy, CM Saini outlined various areas where Haryana and Canada could cooperate for shared progress and sustainable development. He particularly emphasized the potential for collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), smart governance, education, skill development, and agriculture.
The Chief Minister underscored the government’s focus on promoting digital and AI-based solutions to enhance governance transparency, efficiency, and citizen-centric services. He pointed out Canada’s leadership in areas like smart governance, data-driven decision-making, healthcare optimization, and AI applications in agriculture, highlighting the potential benefits of collaboration in these domains. Saini also stressed the importance of education and skill development to make Haryana’s youth globally competitive.
Canada’s expertise in applied learning, polytechnic education, and simulation-based training was acknowledged by CM Saini as internationally acclaimed. He proposed partnerships in joint degree programs, skill development initiatives, experiential learning, and industry-integrated curriculum to create new opportunities for the youth. Additionally, cooperation in agriculture, agri-tech, startups, innovation, and technology entrepreneurship was identified as promising areas for collaboration to drive economic growth and opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs from both regions.
