The Haryana government is focused on developing the state into a global hub for electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), IT, animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics industries. By formulating a new industrial policy, the government aims to attract investors and drive employment opportunities, innovation, and advanced technological growth.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, in discussions with industry leaders, highlighted the significance of IT, animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and ESDM sectors in the national economy. With its strong infrastructure and industry-friendly environment, Haryana is poised to draw substantial global investments.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh expressed the government’s vision to position Haryana as a preferred destination for both domestic and international companies, offering special incentives like capital subsidies, tax benefits, and skill development support to facilitate industry establishment and expansion.
To support the growth of futuristic products and companies, industry representatives proposed initiatives to enhance global competitiveness, benefitting not only large firms but also associated MSMEs. Suggestions included promoting research and development for startups and establishing centers of excellence to drive innovation.
In addressing export challenges, recommendations were made to establish global warehouses abroad for product storage, while also expressing interest in collaborating with ITIs to ensure a skilled workforce aligned with industry requirements. Discussions also touched on promoting artificial intelligence (AI) education in schools and institutions to equip students with competitive skills early on.
The government is set to provide policy backing and incentives to encourage research, development, and innovation. Additionally, a dedicated policy for the animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics (AVGC-XR) sector is in the works to foster structured growth in this creative and technology-driven industry.
During the meeting, stakeholders suggested bolstering the e-sports ecosystem to create opportunities for youth and enhance the state’s competitiveness. They also recommended supporting incubators and centers of excellence to nurture innovation, startups, and talent in the AVGC-XR sector.
