In a related development, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the need for heightened vigilance against AI-driven cyber threats within the financial sector. Speaking at SEBI’s 38th Foundation Day event, Sitharaman warned about the potential market disruptions and loss of investor confidence resulting from successful cyber attacks on key financial entities. She also highlighted the evolving nature of cyber threats, facilitated by advanced artificial intelligence tools.
Following the cybersecurity incident, HDFC Asset Management Company witnessed a sharp decline in its shares on Monday, dropping by 3.71% to reach an intraday low of Rs 2,602.65 on the BSE.
