HDFC Life Insurance Company has extended Vibha Padalkar’s term as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for another five years. The decision, made at a board meeting, follows a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Padalkar’s new tenure will begin on September 12, 2026, pending approvals from shareholders and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

The reappointment of Vibha Padalkar highlights the continuity in leadership at one of India’s major private life insurers. Padalkar has been at the helm of HDFC Life since 2018 and has been associated with the company since 2008, holding various senior positions. Under her leadership, HDFC Life achieved significant milestones, including a successful listing on Indian stock exchanges in 2017 and navigating the first merger and acquisition deal in India’s life insurance sector.

Vibha Padalkar, a dual-qualified Chartered Accountant, is a member of prestigious accounting bodies in England and India. Her leadership has garnered accolades, such as being named ‘Businesswoman of the Year’ at The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence 2025 and featuring in Fortune India’s ‘Most Powerful Women in Business’ list from 2021 to 2025.
