A health camp was organized at the District Hospital in Burhanpur under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), where over 40 pregnant women received comprehensive physical and mental health check-ups. Six women with high-risk pregnancies were identified and provided with necessary medical care to ensure safe deliveries. The initiative focused on educating pregnant women and their families about antenatal check-ups, mental health care, and the importance of institutional deliveries for maternal and neonatal safety.

The camp also informed beneficiaries about free assistance services available under various programs like CCP, FCC, and PMH, including prenatal and postnatal care. The PMSMA campaign, conducted twice a month, aims to enhance maternal and child safety, promote institutional deliveries, and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates. Beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the services and appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing women’s health through such initiatives.

Dr. Poonam Singhal, a Gynaecologist, highlighted that special camps are held bi-monthly to monitor high-risk cases closely. Dr. Rehana Bohra emphasized the scheme’s focus on high-risk patients to ensure safe motherhood. Seema David, the District PMSMA In-charge, mentioned that the program is well-structured to strengthen maternal healthcare services at the grassroots level.
