It has been a month since five women in Kota, Rajasthan, died due to complications from surgical procedures during pregnancy. The recent cases in Bikaner, where new mothers are experiencing acute kidney injury, organ failure, and even blindness, have raised concerns. Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes behind these tragic incidents.

In Kota, the deaths occurred after surgical interventions, including caesarean deliveries, while in Bikaner, postpartum women are facing severe health issues. Families are seeking accountability, and expert committees are actively involved in the investigations. The similarity in complications among women in Bikaner is particularly alarming.

Patients like Tara Devi, Rahila, and Imrati in Bikaner are battling various critical conditions, including acute kidney injury, sepsis, and organ failure. The situation has prompted intensive care for many, with some already undergoing dialysis multiple times. The cases of two young mothers on ventilator support are of particular concern.

Preeti, a 20-year-old from Suratgarh, developed severe hypertension post-childbirth, leading to seizures and other complications. Another case, Sharda, from Shriramsar, faced rapid health deterioration after a Caesarean section, resulting in multi-organ failure and acute kidney injury. The state Health Minister has taken note of these incidents and is closely monitoring the situation.

The health crises in both Kota and Bikaner have similarities, prompting investigations into the medical procedures, treatments, and care provided. In Kota, four medical staff members have been suspended due to lapses in patient care. The mystery behind these tragic events, including the recent deaths and complications, remains unresolved as investigations continue.

Authorities are looking into various factors, including treatment protocols, pharmaceuticals, and infection control measures, to determine the root cause of these health crises. The suspension of medical personnel and the seizure of certain drugs are part of the ongoing efforts to address the situation. The affected families are eagerly awaiting answers as the investigations progress.
