At least 18 people lost their lives, and 19 others were injured in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province due to heavy rains and flash floods since July 19, as reported by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The casualties resulted from collapsing house roofs and walls, as well as individuals being swept away by the floods. Among the deceased were eight children, seven men, and three women, while the injured included 11 men, four women, and four children.

The PDMA stated that 30 houses suffered damage during the severe weather, with 23 partially damaged and seven completely destroyed. The affected regions included Buner, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Shangla, Lower Chitral, Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Lower and Upper Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Tor Ghar, Kurram, and North and South Waziristan. Rescue operations are ongoing in these areas, with the PDMA collaborating with Rescue 1122, district administrations, and other relevant departments.

In addition, eight individuals were killed, and 14 others were injured in rain-related incidents in Gujranwala, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Lahore cities of Punjab province. The fatalities in Gujranwala included mostly children, with six people losing their lives and 10 sustaining injuries. Rain-triggered incidents in Pakpattan led to the death of two minor children and injuries to their mother due to a collapsed house roof. Meanwhile, in Lahore, four workers were injured when a factory roof collapsed in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area.

The heavy rains caused flooding in Gujrat and Gujranwala cities, submerging main roads and surrounding areas after a 10-hour downpour. Commercial activities and daily life were affected in both cities, particularly in Gujranwala, where the heavy rains disrupted the construction of a metro bus route between Eminabad and Gakhar Mandi.
