Hezbollah’s leader Naim Qassem emphasized that any ceasefire with Israel must involve a total cessation of aggression, warning of retaliation against Israeli violations in southern Lebanon. Qassem stated that Hezbollah fighters would respond to any acts of aggression accordingly. He outlined five crucial steps, including a permanent end to hostilities across Lebanon, full Israeli withdrawal, detainee releases, the return of displaced residents, and reconstruction with Arab and international support.
Hezbollah remains resolute in its pursuit of Lebanon’s liberation and independence, as stated by Qassem. Additionally, he expressed Hezbollah’s willingness to engage in cooperation with the Lebanese government, aiming to strengthen national unity and safeguard sovereignty through collaboration with state institutions. The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, brokered by US President Donald Trump, commenced for a 10-day period starting at midnight between Thursday and Friday local time.
Despite the ceasefire, the Israel Defense Forces reported striking militants near the “Yellow Line,” the northern boundary of Israel’s established “security zone” in southern Lebanon. Furthermore, Israel initiated the construction of a new military site near Kfarchouba village in southern Lebanon’s eastern sector, as witnessed by locals and confirmed by a Lebanese security source. The construction activities, including earthmoving and the building of earth berms, indicated the establishment of a new military post linked to Kfarchouba.
