A high-level interaction took place in Bihar with a 16-member study group from the 66th course of the National Defence College (NDC) focusing on ‘National Security and Strategic Studies,’ led by Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit. The delegation, led by Major General Pawanpal Singh, comprised officers from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, as well as representatives from Oman, South Africa, the United States, and Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and senior officials from various key departments, including Rural Development, Livelihoods, Energy, Industry, Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Home Department, and the Cabinet Secretariat. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit welcomed the delegation on behalf of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlighting Bihar’s cultural richness and progress across sectors in the past 15–20 years.
Despite facing challenges, Bihar has shown significant advancement and maintained high economic growth rates. The Chief Secretary emphasized Bihar’s success in agriculture, women’s empowerment, and poverty alleviation through programs like ‘Jeevika,’ which has become a national model. Additionally, he noted the state’s achievements in electrification, infrastructure development, and industrial growth, attracting major investments like the Adani Group’s Rs 30,000 crore commitment.
