Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajeev Bindal criticized the Congress-led state government for the recent clash between Delhi and Himachal Pradesh police over the custody of three Youth Congress activists. The activists were arrested by Delhi Police for a protest at the AI Summit in Delhi. Bindal described the situation as unprecedented and deeply disturbing.
Bindal accused the state government of shielding individuals who allegedly tarnished India’s global image at the AI Summit. He condemned the government for creating a confrontation between law enforcement agencies by filing an FIR against the Delhi Police team. The BJP chief emphasized that such actions lead to a dangerous breakdown of constitutional governance.
Former Minister Bindal highlighted that the Delhi Police were in Himachal Pradesh following legal procedures, but the Himachal Police obstructed their actions. He expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, citing various recent incidents of violence and crime. Bindal criticized the government for prioritizing protecting those accused of defaming the nation over addressing serious law and order issues.
Bindal also accused the government of undermining constitutional institutions and interfering with the Panchayati Raj elections. He criticized the government for engaging in legal battles against the Election Commission while neglecting pressing issues. Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh Police responded to an incident involving the forcible removal of individuals from a resort, leading to swift legal actions to ensure compliance with the law.
