The Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the Congress for making allegations against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The BJP termed these accusations as politically motivated and an exploitation of the faith of millions of devotees for political purposes. BJP chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal highlighted the Congress’ historical opposition to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and its efforts to obstruct the construction of the Ram Temple.
Jamwal pointed out the Congress’ past involvement in major corruption scandals in India, including the 2G Spectrum scam, Coal Allocation (Coalgate) scam, Commonwealth Games scam, and others. He emphasized that these scandals tarnished the country’s image and led to significant financial losses. The BJP spokesperson criticized the irony of the Congress lecturing others on transparency and accountability despite its own tainted record.
The BJP stressed that Lord Ram is a symbol of faith for millions of Indians, and the Ram Temple is a national heritage, not a political asset. Jamwal called for any issues related to the trust to be handled within the legal framework, accusing the Congress of needlessly politicizing a sacred institution for electoral gains. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to transparency and good governance, contrasting it with the Congress’ history of corruption scandals and appeasement politics.
