In a conversation facilitated by Minister for Youth Services and Sports Yadvinder Goma, the Chief Minister assured the grieving family of government assistance. An FIR has been filed against Associate Professor Ashok Kumar and three students. The Associate Professor has been suspended pending the investigation’s outcome and disciplinary actions as per service conduct rules.
Chief Minister Sukhu pledged a transparent and prompt investigation, ensuring accountability under the law. The government stands in solidarity with the family, committed to holding those responsible liable. An order for the immediate suspension of the Assistant Professor has been issued pending a departmental inquiry.
The Assistant Professor faces charges under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Himachal Pradesh Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act, 2009, related to the student’s demise. The suspension order requires Ashok Kumar to remain at the Directorate of Higher Education in Shimla during the investigation, with no unauthorized departures.
