Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans to offer permanent housing to eligible poor families residing in ‘kutcha’ houses. Emphasizing the importance of safe housing as a fundamental need and social right, the government is committed to ensuring dignified living standards for these families. The focus extends beyond mere house construction to encompass basic amenities, sanitation, water supply, and livelihood opportunities.
The government aims to strengthen the Panchayati Raj Department by prioritizing the filling of vacant positions and appointing Junior Engineers in panchayats. Social empowerment is a key priority for the state government, with various welfare schemes in place to integrate marginalized sections of society. Regular reviews of scheme progress are mandated, with a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence or delays at any level.
CM Sukhu reiterated the government’s dedication to public welfare and equitable development distribution. Upholding the principle of “systemic change,” the administration is committed to ensuring that the benefits of progress reach every individual in society. The high-level review meeting also saw the presence of Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh and other senior officials.
