Hindu seers in Ayodhya expressed disapproval towards Maulana Sajid Rashidi, a Muslim cleric, for his contentious remarks against the Hindu community. Rashidi, in an interview with a local channel, stated, “Either memorise the ‘Kalma’ or else you will be killed. Only then Hindus will be scared of the Muslims.” This statement drew strong criticism from Sitaram Das Maharaj of Saket Bhawan Temple, who denounced Rashidi’s “jihadist terrorist thinking” and questioned the government’s silence on the matter.
Sitaram Das Maharaj accused Rashidi of attempting to incite Muslims and emphasized the need to swiftly address individuals with extremist ideologies. He called for Rashidi’s immediate arrest under the National Security Act (NSA) for allegedly conspiring to instigate unrest in the country. Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, the Peethadheeshwar of Tapaswi Chhavani, condemned Rashidi’s remarks, suggesting his association with terrorist organizations and advocating for severe action against him.
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya urged the authorities to take stringent measures against Rashidi for his provocative statements, insinuating that such actions amount to treason. Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das Maharaj echoed similar sentiments, asserting that Hindus are resilient and should not be intimidated by extremist ideologies. He questioned the presence of individuals who denigrate Hindus in India and called upon the Uttar Pradesh government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to safeguard the interests of Hindus.
Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das Maharaj warned that failure to declare India as a “Hindu Rashtra” could lead to attacks on Hindus, potentially instilling fear and coercing them to adopt Islam. The seers emphasized the need for decisive action against individuals promoting divisive ideologies that threaten the nation’s unity.
