Hockey India has praised Neha, a veteran midfielder, for achieving the milestone of 200 international caps for India during the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup match against Uruguay. Neha, hailing from Sonipat, Haryana, began her career under the guidance of former India captain Pritam Rani Siwach in 2014. Known for her exceptional footwork and game reading skills, Neha has been a crucial part of the Indian midfield since her debut.
Neha has played a significant role in India’s major achievements, including a fourth-place finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and winning medals at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. She was instrumental in India’s victories at the FIH Women’s Nations Cup and the Asia Cup. Expressing her joy, Neha thanked her family, coach, and Hockey India for their unwavering support throughout her career. She emphasized her dedication to the national team and her motivation to continue contributing to its success.
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey commended Neha’s longevity and impact in international hockey, highlighting her resilience and leadership on the field. Secretary General Shri Bhola Nath Singh also praised Neha’s journey from a young player to a seasoned professional, acknowledging her dedication and energy in the midfield. Meanwhile, India secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Uruguay, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the tournament and securing a top spot in Pool A.
