She reached a milestone in 2025 by becoming the second Indian goalkeeper to achieve 300 international caps, showcasing her enduring skill and consistency.
Savita played a crucial role in India’s historic fourth-place finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and has led the team to various successes, including a Bronze medal at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Her exceptional goalkeeping skills have earned her accolades such as the Arjuna Award and the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year award for three consecutive seasons. Baldev Singh, a former Indian international player and coach, was honored for his outstanding contributions to the sport.
Baldev, who competed in multiple Olympics and Hockey World Cups for India, transitioned into coaching after retiring as a player. He has mentored several top Indian players, including Sandeep Singh and Rani Rampal. Baldev was previously recognized with the Dronacharya Award for his significant role in coaching and player development. Hockey India officials praised Savita and Baldev for their dedication and invaluable contributions to Indian hockey.
