A 26-year-old homemaker, Sanika Gowda, tragically died by suicide in Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara area. She had a video call with her husband, Sharan Gowda, where she confronted him about his alleged extramarital relationship. Distressed after hearing an audio recording of his conversation with another woman, Sanika ended the call and took her life by hanging herself at her parents’ residence in Rayasandra.
Sanika’s brother found her body in her room, where she had taken this extreme step in the presence of her seven-month-old child. The incident occurred around 3 a.m., revealing marital discord between Sanika and Sharan Gowda, who had been married for about one-and-a-half years. Sanika had returned to her parental home for postnatal care before the tragic event.
Allegations of Sharan Gowda’s involvement in an extramarital relationship are being investigated by the police. The Parappana Agrahara Police Station has registered a case, and Sanika’s body has been moved to St. John’s Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are actively looking into the circumstances surrounding Sanika’s untimely death.
