Eleven people, including women and children, lost their lives, and many others sustained injuries when a house roof collapsed in Lachi tehsil of Kohat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, due to heavy rain. The incident occurred during a family gathering in the Malagin area, trapping 15 individuals under the debris. Rescue teams managed to recover all victims, with 11 succumbing to their injuries.
Several women and children were among the injured individuals, with Basmeena (50), Nawab Jana (45), Farmeena (45), and Arham (6) identified among the deceased. In a separate incident on July 2, rain-related incidents in Punjab led to two fatalities and nine injuries, with collapses of walls, roofs, and a billboard due to strong winds and heavy rain being reported. Punjab Rescue 1122 spokesperson Farooq Ahmad highlighted incidents such as wall and roof collapses in Attock and Para Shaheen Bagh, as well as injuries caused by lightning and signboard collapses in other areas.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported seven deaths and 33 injuries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 14, attributed to strong winds, lightning, and rainfall. The casualties, including men, women, and children, resulted from collapsing walls and roofs in Bannu, Shangla, and Mansehra due to adverse weather conditions.
